Restaurant Pik Wah Jalan Hang Jebat

Restaurant Pik Wah Jalan Hang Jebat

Yesterday was in this restaurant Pik Wah in Jalan Hang Jebat for first CNY “Loh Sang” lunch on sister-in-law invitation. Also, it has been quite sometime since the last dining in Pik Wah Low (Cantonese version of restaurant Pik Wah). To be honest, this restaurant served very good but expensive Chinese dishes. It is easy to burn a hole in your pocket.

We had jelly fish Yee Sang, Kai Lan (Chinese broccoli), Lok Yok (venison meat), wanton noodles, their famous wanton clay-pot chicken and a bowl of Tong Sui (sweet dessert). We had about 5 person and total meal costed RM328.00 which works out to be approximately RM65.00 per-person. The foods are very good that comes with a price.

Yee Sang

Very authentic jelly fish Yee Sang with pears. We only poured in about 1/2 bowl (small bowl) the oil and sweet sour sauce. The mixture ingredients are fresh.

Main dishes.

  1. Stir fry venison meat with scallions. Meat is soft and tender.

2. Stir fry garlic Kai Lan (Chinese broccoli). Vegetables is fresh and crunchy.

3. This is wanton noodles with thinly sliced pork meat, mushrooms and tauge (bean sprouts).

4. Wanton clay-pot chicken. This chicken dish maybe their signature dish as many diners ordered this dish. This dish accompanied by a plate of fried wanton. I would suggest pouring the fried wantons into the clay-pot as this will soften the wanton and the sauce is being absorbed into the wanton that ignites the flavors of the wanton. I believe the wanton also consist of prawn meat mixed with mince pork.

5. Sweet desserts. They have 2 sweet desserts (Tong Sui) selection with 1 of it, is free for dine-ins. We had sea coconut with longan dessert and this is not the free dessert.
