Home Cooked Hokkien Mee Noodles.
This article serves as a reminder to me of my mother’s home cooked Hokkien Mee. I just loved the tasty black soy sauce with fish stocks noodles. And definitely one of the best Hokkien Mee I loved to have over and over again without feeling bored.
It is very difficult to get good tasty Hokkien Mee (noodles) from street stalls or even restaurants. Even it beats Petaling Street’s famous stall; to be honest.
Sauce mixed:
- oyster sauce.
- white soy sauce.
- black soy sauce.
- fish sauce.
- sugar.
- a bit of cornflour.
- dry flounder fish powder (chor hau fish powder).
- water.
Looked at the juicy noodles. Wow … and yummy. This is a non-halal dish and my mum cook together with some long beans.
Note:
- In Penang, Hokkien Mee is a different type of noodles.
Want to know how Hokkien Mee taste like? Read my other blog article here. And or course, taste cannot be compared with my mother’s Hokkien Mee.
My own cooking updated: 21/08/2020 (with beef meat balls).
